THE GOLDEN WEASEL AWARD

In 2004 the PTA introduced the Golden Weasel Award for the person or level of government which has weaseled out of its commitment to protect tenants against slum conditions.

We believe landlords should take responsibility for their buildings … and City Hall should take responsibility for enforcing the rules.

The PTA is putting pressure on landlords to clean up their buildings.

And we’re pushing City Hall to inspect bad buildings in Parkdale. City inspectors should check buildings for violations of City By-laws and the building code, order landlords to fix them, and penalize those who don’t.

On November 25th, 2004, the PTA announced the winner of the 2004 Golden Weasel Award.
